The ALGOP Steering Committee received a complaint to disqualify Lowery’s candidacy for State Representative District 16, citing a new amendment to the bylaws: ⁃ a candidate who ran on another party. had another party sign posted. gave funds. Lives in a different district and more addendums, must sit out an election cycle. of 6 years before being eligible to seek office on the Republican ticket, that Lowery had only sat out 5 years from a prior race.
A copy of the new amendment and the complaint, which was only signed as “Hunter”, was provided.
The ALGOP State Chairman John Wahl then notified Lowery that multiple candidates had filed a complaint and the disqualification rule was automatic. Lowery appealed.
In a called Special Election by the Governor, Alabama state election laws makes provisional clauses for such occasions outside of the normal election cycles. The ALGOP bylaws has no Special Election provisional clauses. Despite Fayette County Party Chairman John Killian’s written objection to the complaint, despite Lowery having some the nation’s top endorsements and supporters, despite the known fact of Lowery touring on the ReAwaken America Tour who’s keynote speakers are but not limited to:
⁃ General Michael Flynn, the former National Security Advisor to President Trump,
⁃ Pastor Greg Locke, the world’s largest online pastor,
⁃ Mike Lindell, My Pillow CEO, and others,
despite encountering protesters, riots and Antifa while his coach was leased out on the said tour, and despite Lowery out advocating for our Rights and Freedoms, America First Policies, banning China land purchases, banning this new Central Bank Digital Currency rollout coming to replace the dollar… which was all in motion prior to HD16’s seat becoming open, the ALGOP steering committee voted on Monday night August 28, 2023 to uphold this new bylaw amendment and disqualified Lowery’s candidacy based on him being short by one year of sitting out.
“We are devastated.” Lowery said in disbelief. “and Voters just had their right to choose taken away.”
Many officials are pointing out that the ALGOP should‘ve never accepted Lowery’s qualifying money and announced him on their official website AS A QUALIFIED candidate to then disqualify him only a few weeks before the Special Election’s Primary.
Lowery was screened on June 27, 2023, by the ALGOP St Chairman about running for office as stated in the bylaws, plus Lowery was also held in high regard by other ALGOP Executive Committeemen and Legislators.
Lowery’s conservative lifestyle, being the son and grandson of lifelong Pastors, a worship leader, his public works, his good standings with officials, his high profile endorsements, and that this is a called Special Election, and that Lowery had completed 5 of the 6 years of a normal election cycle, with all things considered, the ALGOP St. Chairman approved Lowery as a good Republican candidate for the HD16 race as anyone else would have done. Lowery then campaigned for months spending advertising funds and building relationships across his district.
“It’s one thing for a candidate to lose an election in a clean fair race,. it’s a totally different intent when election interference is used to disqualify a candidate you feel you may not beat.” said Lowery. “I genuinely thank our supporters for believing in me and our fight for the American way. If it’s the people’s choice . we will return to the ballot in the not so distant future.” Lowery said.
